South Korean Teas: A Journey Through Terroir and Tradition
This tasting is an invitation into the soul of Korean tea. Together, we’ll explore five hand-picked, organically grown teas—each a reflection of place, season, and craft. From floral summer infusions to ancient fermented brews, each cup carries a story.
- Chrysanthemum Joonjak (?? ??)
- A rare summer blend of green tea and wild chrysanthemum blossoms. Soft, honeyed, and aromatic—bridging the worlds of green tea and gentle herbal infusions.
- Woojeon (??)
- The prized first flush of spring, picked before the monsoon rains. Bright vegetal notes, oceanic undertones, and a buttery finish capture the delicacy of early Korean spring.
- Sejak (??)
- Harvested just after Woojeon, Sejak balances freshness with depth. Nutty, round, and smooth with an elegant umami finish—an ode to Korea’s refined tea-making techniques.
- Hong Cha (??)
- Korea’s red tea is unexpectedly smooth, with natural sweetness and notes of cacao, dried fruit, and spice. A warm, quietly complex cup.
- Chong Tae Jeon (???)
- A living relic from the Goryeo Dynasty. Once used as currency and crafted by Buddhist monks, this rare post-fermented tea offers earthy, piney sweetness that deepens across multiple infusions.
South Korean teas are often crafted by small family farms, many led by women who carry forward generations of knowledge. The result is not just a beverage, but a ritual—steeped in patience, precision, and poetic simplicity.
We invite you to bring a friend, make a new one, and savor the magic of tea in good company. Every cup is a journey—come sip with us.
