Borne from the legendary leaves of Lao Ban Zhang and aged with quiet dignity since 2010, Founding Ember is a tea of ancestral gravity and subterranean grace. It opens with a deep, earthy warmth—clean and mineral-rich like rain-soaked stone—then unfurls into a velvet-bodied liquor with notes of aged sandalwood and dark dried jujube.

The brew is thick and resonant on the tongue—like drinking a slow flame. Smooth and grounding, with a depth that speaks not in fireworks, but in steady presence. A whisper of camphor lingers in the finish, cooling and awakening, as if a dragon has exhaled from the earth below.

Perfect for anchoring rituals, long meditative sessions, or honoring a new chapter rising from old foundations.

Potential Benefits: may help ease anxiety, balance blood sugar, reduce bodily toxins, contain powerful prebiotics & probiotics that help with digestion, gut health & grounding your mind & body*

BREWING SUGGESTION (this is just a guide, we encourage you to experiment and find a way that works for you!):

Western Style

  1. Break off one chunk (~4-6g) and drop it into a large teapot or thermos enough for 4 people (~30 oz total)
  2. Add 200-212°F water and steep for 10-15 min or until it reaches the desired strength

Grandpa Style

  1. Break off one chunk (~4-6g) and drop it into a tea mug (~8 oz)
  2. Add 200-212°F water and steep for 2-3 min or until it reaches the desired strength
  3. Start sipping the tea until there is about one-third of liquid left in the cup, then fill it up with hot water again and repeat step #2, adjusting the steeping time as you see fit (repeat this until the tea loses its flavor)

Gongfu Cha Style

  1. Break off one chunk (~4-6g) and drop it into a gaiwan or yixing clay teapot
  2. Give the tea a quick rinse with 200-212°F water
  3. Add 200-212°F water and steep for ~30-sec or until it reaches the desired strength for the first infusion
  4. For the second to fourth infusions, add 200-212°F water and steep for ~5-10-sec
  5. For subsequent infusions, increase the steeping time each time by ~10-sec until the tea loses its flavor
