Origin: From the historic Yibang micro-region of Yiwu—one of the famed Ancient Six Tea Mountains—this tea comes from an exceptionally rare small-leaf varietal known as “鸡嘴壳” (“beak leaf”). Sharply pointed, delicate, and seldom seen (rarer even than Yibang’s “cat ear” varietal), it embodies the hidden treasures of Yunnan’s ancient tea trees.
Flavor & Sensory Profile
- Aroma: floral honey, soft orchard blossoms, and a refined sweetness unique to small-leaf Yibang teas.
- Liquor: silky and luminous, flowing with subtle strength and minimal bitterness.
- Aftertaste: lingering sweetness, cooling resonance in the throat, and an uplifting, almost ethereal energy.
Character
Ethereal Beak is a study in grace: subtle yet penetrating, rare yet approachable. It carries the elegance of silk with the strength of hidden qi—an exquisite tea for meditation, ceremony, or deep contemplation. In addition, sheng pu-er is thought to help with digestion, qi & blood circulation, and flushing out "stagnant" energies. Studies have also suggested that it may help lower blood sugar & fat, reduce bodily toxins and help with weight loss.*

BREWING SUGGESTION (this is just a guide; we encourage you to experiment and find a way that works for you!):
Western Style
- Unwrap one dragon ball and drop it into a large teapot or thermos enough for 6-8 people (~70-80 oz total)
- Add 200°F water and steep for 5-10 min or until it reaches the desired strength
Cold Brew
- Unwrap one dragon ball and drop it into your favorite cold brew vessel
- Add ~60-70 oz room temperature filtered water and refrigerate for 12-24 hours, tasting occasionally until it reaches your preferred flavor
- Strain and enjoy chilled—great for hot days or when you want something refreshing with a gentler energy
Grandpa Style
- Unwrap one dragon ball and drop it into a tea mug or glass (~8-12 oz)
- Add 200°F water and steep for ~2 min or until it reaches the desired strength
- Start sipping the tea until there is about one-third of liquid left in the cup, then fill it up with hot water again and repeat step #2, adjusting the steeping time as you see fit (repeat this until the tea loses its flavor)
Gongfu Cha Style
- Unwrap one dragon ball and drop it into a gaiwan or yixing clay teapot
- Give the tea a quick rinse with 200-212°F water
- Add 200-212°F water and steep for ~30-sec or until it reaches the desired strength for the first infusion
- For the second to fifth infusions, add 200-212°F water and steep for ~5-10-sec
- For subsequent infusions, increase the steeping time each time by ~10-sec until the tea loses its flavor
