experience. Learn the art and science behind preparing Japanese powdered teas—from

ceremonial whisking rituals to crafting café-style lattes customized to your taste. This

class is ideal for tea lovers, wellness enthusiasts, and curious beginners alike.

What to Expect:

Instructor Will Provide

• A brief intro to the origins, history, and health benefits of matcha and milled

hojicha.

• Live demonstration of traditional matcha whisking techniques
• Comparison and discussion of ceremonial vs. culinary grade matcha

Participants Will

• Prepare ceremonial matcha and/or milled hojicha for tasting
• Create personalized matcha or milled hojicha lattes using a selection of milks

(whole, almond and oat milks) and styles

What You’ll Learn

• Cultural significance and origin of matcha
• How to use traditional tea tools: chasen (bamboo whisk), chawan (tea bowl), and chashaku (scoop).
• Ways to incorporate matcha into daily rituals

What You'll Take Home

• A complete matcha starter kit consisting of a chasen, chawan, and chashaku and a sample tin of our imported Japanese matcha powder.
• Newfound knowledge of Japanese milled teas and their traditional techniques.
